I am using Arduino version 1.8.10, Mac 10.13.6
I can plug in an older Arduino UNO and it shows up when I look for ‘ports’; but the MicroView does not show up.
I’ve gone through the FTDI driver installation tutorial.
Suggestions??

Hi CB.
Are you using the [MicroView USB Programmer or something else to program your Microview? The USB Programmer should show up as a serial port as long as you have the latest version of the FTDI driver installed. [This guide will walk you through installing the latest version and be sure to reboot after installing to fully activate the new driver.
If that’s not working, see if the programmer is generating a COM port on a different computer or a PC that has the FTDI driver installed.](How to Install FTDI Drivers - SparkFun Learn)](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12924)
Sorry to resurrect and old thread, but I’m having the same issue. I was able to upload a sketch to the MicroView from my PC, but on my Mac, the USB Programmer will not show in the Arduino software no matter what I do.
I installed the FTDI driver fine. The device FT231X USB UART shows up under Hardware → USB, I ran the command and script to remove the Mac native driver (neither of which ran successfully), but it just won’t show up in the Arduino software.
I’m on Arduino 1.8.12, MacOS 10.15.4. I tried both USB ports…
Give [this driver a try and see if that works for you. This is the latest signed driver direct from FTDI.
FTDI also has an [installation guide you might want to check out if you’re still having trouble with the latest driver.](https://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/AppNotes/AN_134_FTDI_Drivers_Installation_Guide_for_MAC_OSX.pdf)](https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP/MacOSX/FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_4_2.dmg)
