Are DipTrace .gbr files OK for ordering from BatchPCB?

Edit: appears to work fine. The use of gerbv was important to make sure settings were correct. Original post follows:

Are the Gerber files from DipTrace OK for ordering from BatchPCB?

I downloaded “gerbv – a Gerber (RS-274X) viewer”, as named in http://batchpcb.com/index.php/Faq#How%2 … 20are%20ok and it views the *.gbr files fine. http://batchpcb.com/index.php/Faq#Can%2 … 20software doesn’t mention DipTrace.

I tried Eagle. I was not up to the task. For example, I could not figure out how to tell Eagle which power supply would power each chip. And there were other things.

My design in DipTrace is not done, but I wanted to see if I would be able to order some boards with the out put.

These were the output files when I let DipTrace produce everything:

Board Outline.gbr

Board.gbr

Bottom Assy.gbr

Bottom Mask.gbr

Bottom Paste.gbr

Bottom Silk.gbr

Bottom.gbr

Top Assy.gbr

Top Mask.gbr

Top Paste.gbr

Top Silk.gbr

Top.gbr

Any advice?

Worked great forme. You just rename them to match their ew file name requirement.

I’m with you. I found DipTrace a much easier program to use than Eagle and I didn’t feel I lost any capability. All of the included libraries makes it really nice.
