BlueSmirf Gold in master mode. How to connect with PIN?

Hello all,

I successfully connected my BlueSmirf Gold module to my Mac and can send commands to it.

The status of the module is as follows:

D
***Settings***
BTA=00066600D32A
BTName=FireFly-D32A
Baudrt(SW4)=115K
Parity=None
Mode  =Mstr
Authen=1
Encryp=0
PinCod=0000
Bonded=0
Rem=001C4D30FB99

***ADVANCED Settings***
SrvName= SPP
SrvClass=0000
DevClass=1F00
InqWindw=0200
PagWindw=0200
CfgTimer=60
StatuStr=NULL

When I start an Inquiry this works fine, but I can’t connect to the device since the device I want to connect to will request a PIN to pair/connect.

I can inquire using the “I” command:

I
Inquiry, COD=0
Found 1
001C4D30FB99,Zeemote JS1,584
Inquiry Done

and after I try to connect this fails.

C,001c4d30fb99
TRYING
CONNECT failed

How can I connect/pair using a pin which is requested by the client device?

The Pin is just “0000” but where and how do I specify that?

Thank you very much in advance,

Michael.

Noone tried this before?

Maybe someone at Sparkfun?

Cheers,

Michael.

Hi guys,

has really noone tried to connect to a BT GPS for instance, where you must specify a pin to connect to the device?

I just want to know if I can use the BlueSmirf Gold in Master Mode to connect to a SPP Device with PIN in order to read data!

Thanks,

Michael.

I have exactly the same problem, and nowhere on the internet/datasheet is there anything that can help. Master mode is almost useless without the ability to pair with a passkey!

Anyone?
