BlueSMiRF RP-SMA is driving me crazy

I read all the Bluesmirf related posts but i still cannot configure my Bluesmirf.

  1. I jumpered RTS to CTS, swapped the Tx & Rx Lines, 3.3V

  2. It works on data mode, 115K, 8N1, No hardware control

  3. I can enter configuration mode by pressing $$$, both remotely and locally, bluesmirf returns me CMD when that happens

  4. I can’t do anything after that. i tried “SU,38” to change the baud rate but absolutely nothing happens (No reply). Even get commands such as “D” or “E” also dun work.

I getting crazy after a whole day of trying and would appreciate any help

That should be all you need to do. You are following the command with a carriage return aren’t you? If you are using Hyperterinal, make sure that flow control is set to none. I’ve had no problems using the RN-41 module, which is what the Bluesmirf uses.

Yup, that was the missing part, i didn’t press enter [Oh my gosh manual didn’t state that  ].

Now it works. However, i do experience data corruption issues at 115K on the transmit line [Rx line is ok]. This is even when i send like 1 character per second. Changed a different USB dongle, fitted an antenna. The same happens.

38.4k works ok though. Anyone has the same problems?

i think i maybe screwing up the hyperterminal setup, because i connect over bluetooth, send “$$$” and i get nothing. Also, what command would change the name of the unit.

heres something interesting, when i connect to it by my phone and send it “$$$” i get “CMD” but then what ever i send after that i get no response.
