great. my bluesmirf also seemed to come set for 9600. Good luck with the roomba!redredred:
Bill,I got the arduino a few days ago and I got it to work great with the bluesmirf. It turns out that for some reason the bluesmirf’s UART was configured at 9600 baud, which I discovered by trial and error. Anyway, it works just fine now and I figured out how to set the bluesmirf to whatever baud I like.
Unfortunately, though, my Roomba is still talking garbage to it. But that is another story.
Thanks,

One thing I noticed, that may help others, is that every time I issued the command to save settings to flash (AT+BTFLS) the Auto-connect mode was set back to FALSE. So, if you want to use auto-connect, which I think most everyone does, you need to issue AT+BTAUT=1,1 after the former command.
Bill2009, BTW: I now have full Roomba control, so that is great. Unfortunately, I discovered why my Roomba stopped working as an effective floor cleaner. The right wheel has some sort of encoder problem which I’ll need to repair. The fun continues.
