Bluetooth sound sensor

Hi All

Total newbie here with a request for bit of help, I apologise in advance if i am posting in the wrong section

I am hard of hearing and i have a door intercom which i struggle to hear at the best of times, there is no volume control i can see and it has caused me a few problems over the years, leaving my young grandson out in the freezing cold being one of them.

Is there any king of bluetooth transmitter i could rig up with a microphone i could attach to the intercom that would send a signal to a receiving light / LED in my living room to alert me that the buzzer has been pressed ?

I use a BT transmitter to send sound from my TV to my headphones and this works well when i am watching but this leaves me unable to hear the buzzer going at all. I would appreciate any help / advice . Thanks

Hello, and thanks for posting.

Sadly we don’t have what you’re looking for and we might have the parts to build something that would work, but we don’t have instructions for how to do that.

It might be easier for you to go with a wireless doorbell that you can plug into any outlet. Lowes or Home Depot should have those available. You could even get [something like this, that will make a sound and flash a light to let you know someone is at your door.

Worst case, you would need two doorbell buttons outside, but you could put a note on one saying “Please push both buttons” and then both doorbells would ring.](https://www.harriscomm.com/wp180usl-wireless-doorbell-with-flashing-strobe-and-push-button.html)

Thanks for the reply Chris, I’ll definitely look into the doorbell idea, I’m sure UK hardware stores will have something similar.

here is what i use…

The Mpow BH259A offers what you should be looking for from a Bluetooth transmitter: support for the aptX Low Latency codec (to improve the sync between audio and video), the ability to pair to two sets of headphones at once, and the added convenience of using it as a transmitter or receiver. It matches the sound quality of the other portable models we tested and produces about the same amount of audio lag, but it’s easier to use. The BH259A is small and light enough for you to carry it to the gym or while traveling, and it comes with everything you need to connect to your audio source.

hope this helps thanks me later
