I’d like to see a breakout board for the Transchip TC5747 camera. I know you just released one for the E700 camera, but the TC5747 has a built in JPEG codec.
Yes, i definitely agree, but probably the breakout module is meaningful only if we can get the missing information about the camera, for example the high level protocol to control it. Else i fear the usage is limited to the embedded gsm module…
I’ve made two requests already to Transchip for API details – they haven’t even bothered replying to the emails!
That said, I have both the Transchip camera and a GM862 on their way to me…if necessary, I’ll hook them up to my logic analyzer

Someone from Transchip has refered me to their distributor now…we’ll wait and see.

Good, at least something is moving… let us know if we can assist somehow, if they see that more people are interested they might be more willing to share. Beside, in case they forward you to an european distibutor, I can have a call with them or write in their language.

Well, the distributor has asked for more info about my application. We’ll wait and see.

The distributor told me they can’t support my design with < 20,000 units/year of sales commitment!
I explained I merely wanted programming info for units I’ve purchased via a reseller. Waiting to hear back.

Considering that the full specifications are available for free from Transchip upon request (as I did, see other thread “Transchip TC5747 camera – embedded dream?”), I think it makes a lot of sense now to have a connector and a breakout board for this cool camera.
