Could you make a breakout board for the Broadcom BCM2042 Bluetooth HID on-a-chip? I found this while trying to find a small solution for doing a bluetooth keyboard hack. It would make things really easy to send simple keypresses or mouse commands to a computer. According to your site, this is also the chip inside the wii-mote that handles the Bluetooth. It can be found at Arrow or Avnet but unfortunately there is a 16 week lead time for both.
Thanks,
Dave
Hi,
It doesn’t seem to have any public datasheet, so we really couldn’t make a breakout, as we’d be under NDA for the pin connections to get enough info to make one!
Please correct me if I’m wrong and there is publicly available info!
Cheers,

I bought a Think Outside Stowaway Bluetooth keyboard to hack:

Inside I saw a module I remembered seeing during my searching on the web:

The BT2013F module has the Broadcom Chip and Flash onboard.
Maybe you can setup a relationship with them to sell their modules through your site, or maybe you could put their modules on a board with easier to solder to pads? This one has vias that are chopped in half that are in turn surface mounted to a carrier board.

I wouldn’t mind seeing their [BT3014 module; looks like it would be perfect for some embedded wiimote hacking.](http://www.tecomproduct.com/BT3014.htm)
The BCM2042 is a BGA chip; practically impossible to work with on a small scale. A number of manufacturers have put that chip on a surface-mount module. I have made arrangements with one of them, Blue Packet, to import and resell them.

I have a breakout board, but that’s not really what you want. You really want a board which brings out the keyboard / mouse pins, and has lands for the decoupling caps, bluetooth sync LED, and bluetooth sync pushbutton. I don’t have that board designed yet, but if there’s sufficient interest, I will. Or sparkfun can – not to steal their thunder.
