Will this module be available on a breakout board at some point? I’m looking for a BT module that would be capable of handling connections to HID device(s).

I too would be very interested in a basic breakout board. BUT… it has to be small. This device is great, but we need to keep the board as tiny as possible with just some vias to solder to. Thanks…
I have a Wiimote with Nunchuk I would like to use to various control various things. I’m being told I need a BT module with HID firmware, but can’t seem to find such a thing anyway. The BlueGiga module seems to have the best possibilies so far.

Hi,
Bluegiga do supply an evaluation PCB for the WT32. Certainly not cheap but it has audio, in, audio out and mic in 3.5mm jackplugs.
RS232 chip and 9 pin connectors.
USB connector.
Lipoly battery.
SPI port etc.

It should certainly be enough for you to evaluate the WT32 for HID applications.
I have just produced a very similar design but including an on-board mic and all WT32 pins are via 0.1 headers. This design is for testing the WT32 as the PC end with remote WT32 modules. I will be sending this design for PCB fabrication this week.
It is still quite expensive and quite time consuming to produce your own version of the evaluation PCB so the price of the original from Bluegiga is not really too excessive and would include a lot of support.

Sparkfun offers [[this BlueGiga SMD module](http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8771), which seems to have the possibility to do what I want to do, but I don't know if the iWrap firmware will allow it. I'm told I need something with HID firmware. I can't afford an expensive evaluation kit.dez.ellis:

Is there a solution for this?

The first boards are being evaluated right now. The breakouts should be availabe in the next few weeks.
What are you looking to do with HID? You’re not limited to the iWrap protocol with the Blue Giga modules, those calls just make it easier to set up many of the profiles and configuration info. You can still send at commands and low level bluetooth commands to the module if that’s what you would rather do.
That's good news! :)ryowens84:

I wrote what I want to do already, in this thread.ryowens84:

I have a Wiimote and Nunchkuk I want to interface for control to various microcontrollers via Bluetooth. I’m being told I need a BT module with HID firmware, so that’s what I have been looking for. Nothing like that seems to exist in the hobby market though.
