Broken GM862 Unit?

Last week I purchased a GM862 unit. For some reason, it won’t start.

pwrmon is always off

status is always off

I tried to boot it with typing on/off to ground for a few seconds but no joy.

I hooked it up to ftdi → hyperterminal, all I got was loopback (even though I didn’t connect tx/rx together).

I’ve tried various power sources, 5V wall adapter through 3.8v regulator (lm317t). I’ve also tried direct from a brand new 3.7V polymer lithium battery.

Does anyone with more experience recommend any other thing to test before I return it for a new one?

What exactly does the link show? I was hoping for some troubleshooting tips or such. I don’t see how your code helps me. Thanks never the less.

I noticed this on mine, while its powered back the serial actually loops back! Kinda crazy…

Alas mine sstill doesn’t work … it powers on and registers and the GPS serial works fine but the GSM serial is just broken.
