Broken multimeter?

Problem is simple - I just bought a multimeter, but it doesn’t turn on. Pressing power button does nothing.

I have tried it with 2 new batteries, just to be sure, and batteries are both checked and are working. And also the batteries are inserted correctly, there is just no way to insert this 9V battery the wrong way into this kind of multimeter.

This is the multimeter that I have: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8657

I guess I should contact SparkFun customer service, but I just thought that maybe I should ask here first, because I am new to multimeters and maybe there is some common problem that I can solve with the help of more experienced folks.

It wouldn’t be too fun sending this thing from Finland all the way back to USA to SparkFun to get a replacement, so I just hope that maybe it’s some fuses that I can change or something else.

And sorry if I post in the wrong section, I really tried to figure out where this kind of question should go, but I couldn’t find any category that this would fit into. So I guessed this is the closest one.

Thanks,

Timo

Well, if no one else knows, I wish at least SF staff could reply here and maybe suggest what should I do. Do I send it back somehow?

Simply email spark at sparkfun.com (replace at with @ to confuse the spam bots).
