Building heart rate monitor.

Hello guys,

I would appreciate your help!

I would like to build a heart rate monitor in a wrist silicon bracelet. Do you guys have any suggestion on which PIC would do the job. I also need BT module and possibility to charge via USB (this is optional).

Just want to hear your feedback. Where should I be cautious, where to pay attention. I am building my first gadget, please do not kill my enthusiasm :stuck_out_tongue:

What on earth is a ā€œsilicon braceletā€?

One of these things.

Hello Maleni,

I have mentioned often donā€™t make it if you can buy it better & cheaper. [Amazon List

As a first project you should make something to amaze your friends but canā€™t buy it in the store.

No, those are silicone braceletsā€¦

Aaahh, now I see !

@ the OP: Iā€™m not sure where you can find a BT board small enough to mount into one of the above bracelets. Personally I"d be looking for an integrated MCU&BT module that can sample one analog channel. Is it your intention to use an IC meant for the monitoring job, something like whatā€™s used in ā€¦ ?

I donā€™t know what kind of detailed data youā€™re looking for, but if itā€™s simple heart rate perhaps a BLE solution might work. They are intended to send short packets of data intermittently.

To make the circuitry fit around a wrist, Iā€™ll opine youā€™re looking at several ā€œboardsā€ connected via flex print. Not the stuff usually done by beginners (itā€™s $$$s).
