Can i get a 2nd set of eyes to go over this board? <-Upda

Wow, people really seem to be itching for confrontation here sometimes. All I meant by that statement was that if you want help, make it easy for people to help you, rather than making them jump through hoops. You’re much more likely to get bites that way.

One thing I appreciate is help given to others because quite often the issues they may encounter may be something I am to encounter myself later. There have been some great discussions on layout issues, ground plane issues, proper decoupling etc. here which don’t just help the person asking the question, but others like myself who may just be lurking. Some of the discussions here and in the Projects forum have ended up saving me much time and avoided me making wild goose chases, even though I didn’t realise it would do so when I was reading the thread just out of interest.

For the person requesting help, for this reason (you may also help others) it’s good to provide an open format version of what you’re doing (PNG files of the layout and schematic) because those of us who don’t use Eagle can also benefit more from the resulting discussion. For those giving the help, you may actually be advising 10 or 20 people not just the person who’s asking, so your help is greatly appreciated by the rest of us, too!

Heh, maybe i just need some confrontation, but here is my 2c.

www.imageshack.com

that about does it…

I read forums and am busy enough not to be able to download files, curse cause im using a different eagle version etc. etc. I would love to help, but by not showing images I need to do a lot before i can dissmiss it because I dont know an answer.

Only reason I read onto the second page is the is a seond page, and to me that means interesting topic :D:D

I agree, make it easy. That’s why using export in eagle makes sense - put it in an easy to consume format. even better use img tags and put the data in-line. image shack is OK but there are many other possibilities.

The caveat with that advice is that some posters don't scale

their work before using the img tags. On my screen the

text scrolls off the right side. I scale my img posts to 600

Pixels. While I prefer to see the whole image in all its glory,

I also add a URL link to the unscaled version.

Yes, its a lot of work but read Winston’s post to understand

why we bother.

Yeah, but that poor CP guy got jumped all over when he suggested that the original poster might benefit from a service that he provides. Free of charge. I took a look at the guys website and there’s nowhere you can give him money, even if you wanted to. I’m not sure how that makes it an infomercial.

Assuming for a second that EAGLE already makes it simple to export pictures from your board artwork (I can’t confirm or deny this, as I don’t have EAGLE), the same might not be true for Product X. In that case, turning the gerbers into viewable artwork and hosting those images is a useful service. That he provides for free.

Seems fairly relevant to me.

Free of charge.

Perhaps we have become cynical as this forum is spammed

from time to time by Chinese vendors looking for customers.

Assuming that you’re not “cp”, and as you’ve

indicated you’re not going to help others, I

thank you for reading this thread.

Yeah, that’s perfectly understandable. They do have a sorry history of piping in with worse offers and touting them as the best thing since sliced bread.

I suppose that’s what comes with being one of the few active electronics boards on the net.
