Can Zigbee devices "see" 802.11 wireless access points?

Hello all,

(I am not sure if this the correct group for this post. If not apologies to all)

I am curious if zigbee devices (802.15.4) can see wifi 802.11 wireless access points (WAN networks). I do not mean that they can talk to each other or that they transmit data to each other - I imagine that is impossible due to the fact they are of different protocols. However, since they both operate in the same 2.4GHz frequency band, I am wondering if the zigbee devices cannot obtain the name of a (802.11) wireless access points and other information that identify it, in the same (or similar) manner a wifi device can see a WEP-protected wireless access point without actually being connected to it.

Basically what I am asking is when ZIgBee devices perform an active scan (using the MLME-Scan.confirm primitive or some other primitive) to obtain info regarding the PANs (if any) in the local surroundings, can they also see WLANs ?

Any light shed will be appreciated,

Regards,
