changing Openlog parts in eagle

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to change the OpenLog’s microSD socket to a SD socket. With the release of the new user friendly (FAT32) firmware, I can change my GPS receiver logger setup to have one compact piece rather than multiple things with wires everywhere.

Anyways, I was looking for a few pointers in eagle on how to rewire it and for it to reflect on the PCB. I don’t see the physical wire connections between ICs on the schematic. I see the labeling on the wires, How can I tell that they are connected? Is there another layer that I’m not looking at?

As you can see I’m new to this stuff.

Simply use the “Replace” tool in the schematic editor to change the part. If you’re lucky, the pin names will be the same and hook it up correctly. Check thoroughly!

Use the “Info” tool and click on a wire, this will highlight the whole net in bright green and allow you to see whats actually conneted to what.

You’ll need to move some stuff around in the Board editor.

Awesome! This helped a ton. =]

Thanks

Your welcome!

One more question:

I used the replace function and it worked nice, but a few of the pins are in the wrong position.(from the replacing) How would I swap them? btw: I tried the swap function and it won’t work. I got some error.

Hoping for another quick response. =

Just use the “Name” tool and click on the green wire you want to change.

Be sure it says “This segment” or you’ll be going 'round in circles!
