Code to receive from GM862-GPS

I am currently trying to interface the GM862-GPS RS232 eval board with the Atmel STK500 starter kit.

I wrote a code to send commands to the module and they are executed correctly. However, i could not find a way to receive the response of the module.

Could anyone please tell me if there is a function that i could use to receive from the module

What do you use to send the code and how do you have the two devices connected?

The two kits are connected using an RS232 serial interface. I use this connection to send commands to the module but i was not able to receive any responses from it.
