Common PCB Symbol TrueType Font

Hi,

I’m looking for a truetype font that has commonly used PCB graphics to put on the silkscreen, Altium has one in their community forums but I don’t have access to that. It looks like this:

Does anyone have anything similar, or perhaps access to get that font it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I think Eagle lets you put bitmap images on the silkscreen, like sparkfun printing their logo

on PCBs.

Hi inventore123, thanks for the reply.

I can put the actual images on, but I was after the actual source for the images above (or other common PCB glyph’s), or if anyone has access to the TrueType Font which actually has those in it so you can just put text on your silkscreen and ‘type’ the image straight on.

Well, if you ARE using Eagle, there’s no point to doing this. You can show a TrueType font in the silkscreen, but it will still use a stick font when it runs the CAM process.

Yup, it’s better to make them as a library and just add them to your board like you do with a component.

A rather belated reply, but I found this freely downloadable font works for Altium:

It’s called Hazard and it has a variety of hazard symbols.

The one I wanted was the electrical hazard symbol, the lightning bolt in a triangle, which “F” in this font.

I hope this helps someone who was searching like me and found this forum.

Thankyou! There’s a few good one’s in there, nice find

I still haven’t been able to find a font like in my original post, this is good though thanks

Symbols like these are not normally made as a font, they are usually made as symbols.

Except in Altium they are, since the picture in the OP was of the Altium font specifically for PCB’s containing commonly used symbols.

Here’s what I’ve found so far.

Some useful symbols in those fonts, however I would ask if the fonts.zip fonts are freely available for use?

Although I can see a problem if they are used and a schematic or PCB is sent to someone else - it would require that they too have the font installed.

Nice find though
