Hi,
I am looking to purchase a battery for my project and the one I am looking at comes with 3 wires: VBAT, GND and NTC. The battery will be connected to a Battery Babysitter, which only comes with a 2 pin JST-PH connector for the battery connection. Based on this, where am I supposed to connect the NTC wire on my battery? Looking at the schematic, it looks like it should go on the TS holes, but I am not sure.
Any idea?
Thanks a lot in advance,
B.
Hi B.
Without knowing anything about your battery, it’s hard to answer your question.
Is your battery a single cell lipo that runs at 3.7-4.2 volts? If yes, you’re going to want to connect VBAT to +, GND to - and NTC to TS.
If your battery IS NOT a single cell lipo, don’t use it with the battery babysitter. You could damage the board and battery.
Hi Chris,
apologize for the delayed response, I didn’t get a notification that you had responded.
Yes, the battery is a single cell 3.7V LIPO battery, so it sounds like all I have to do is put a 2 wire connector on the + and GND and connect the NTC to the TS. I see that there are 2 connections in the TS. Do I need to connect something else there or do I just solder the NTC wire to the hole closest to the edge of the board?
Thanks a lot in advance,
B.
Hello B.
You would want the TS hole that’s closest to the edge of the board. The other pad is just a ground and that wouldn’t need to be connected on your 3 wire battery. The extra pad is there in case you’re using your own NTC thermistor rather than the one in the battery.
