How to connect Himax Camera and MicroMod Machine Learning Carrier Board?

Connector to the camera in the ‘sparktun edge’ looks a bit different:

I do not see any 'locking tab in the camera connector.

A photo would be helpful, I don’t want to try by trial and error so as not to spoil something

The thin black part on the camera connector is the locking portion; in this photo https://cdn.sparkfun.com//assets/parts/ … rd-04A.jpg it is UNLOCKED, in its vertical position…you simply slide in the camera connector and flip the black plastic part down to lock it in place
