Micromod Machine Learning Board Camera

Hi

I have the Himax camera and am trying to insert it into the camera slot on the machine learning board. I’ve read other posts on here and know how the slot works but the camera doesn’t seem to slot in so I can then lock it in place. Could I be doing anything wrong?

Are you sure that the machine learning board and the camera’s connector are compatible with each other?

It’s the make and model specified in the documentation.

I hope sparkfun will be kind enough to provide a good solution. @TS-Russell

I actually have one of these boards and broke my camera connector long ago :-/

Depending on when it was made, the locking black piece on the camera connector is supposed to either:

1- Slide straight back when you tug on it evenly

2- Flip/lift upward

You could take a close-up photo and I can probably tell ya which way it works

…then slide the camera cable into the slot pin-side-up and it should be good to go

Hi

Below is the connector in its open state. Sorry about the blur!

I just can’t get the camera connector to slot in as there doesn’t seem to be space to slide it into.

I’ve now got it plugged in, I was stupidly trying to plug it in on the wrong side of the connector! I’ve just got to get it working now as compiling the demo it says

d:\Users\steph\Arduino\libraries\SparkFun_Himax_HM01B0_Camera\src\hm01b0_c\src\hm01b0_c.c:20:2: error: #error "Unsupported platform: Submit an issue / pull request to https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun_HM01B0_Camera_ArduinoLibrary to add support for your target"
#error "Unsupported platform: Submit an issue / pull request to https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun_HM01B0_Camera_ArduinoLibrary to add support for your target"

But it is using the Artemis processor so not sure here. I’ll have to keep digging.
