Hi,
I found the project of the board on the Internet (gerber files). I wanted to use the BatchPCB.com service to make this board, but it failed because of the design rules of 8 mil traces with 8 mil trace spacing.
I am trying to contact the board designer to ask him for the design that complies, but if I fail: is there any way to easily convert the PCB design? Is there any freeware tool I could use to remove/change the areas that does not comply or do I have to start from scratch?
Not aware of any freeware ones, but altium will allow you to import the gerbers, modify whatever you want and reexport the gerbers again.
You may be able to download a time limited demo thatw ill let you do it.

I cannot find any time limited demo version of Altium Designer. Are there any other options?
Pulsonix will import Gerbers, as well. If the board has less than 100 pins, you could use the demo version.
Or, just get the board made somewhere else. 8/8 mils is standard for most PCB suppliers.

Kicad is free and will import gerbers. Try that one.
