Custon Aruduino PCB

Hello,

I am doing a project for school that requires me to make my own custom PCB. Because of time constraints and familiarity I am using an Arduino Mega board to start development. I was wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial that would help me design a PCB that would incorporate my Mega. I can figure out how to connect the rest of the devices.

THANK YOU!

Well maybe start with downloading the PCB program Eagle and its tutorial to learn how to design a PCB.

Then dig into the web for schematics that use the Atmega processor.

List the features you wish to have on the PCB and draw in Eagle the schematic.

Features could be:

On board voltage regulator

Battery or external power connection

Connectors for GP digital IO

Connectors for special uses: Servos, 3-pin with power and ground

Connectors for analog inputs

connector for serial IO: RS232, SPI, I2C

What would you want to use your custom Atmega PCB for? This should drive the design.

Look through and read the many threads on this forum about custom processor PCBs.

Also goto the SoR web site for the tutorials and the forum threads.
