Datalogger / DAQ using Arduino MEGA 2560

Hello Guys, I’m Johnnie.

I’m new to the Arduino and new to these boards.

In my retirement I’ve recently returned to hobby electronics (having also done that professionally for 25+ years).

My Problem

I have an Mega 2560 that I’d like to press it into service as a DAQ unit. But I have no expertise with this sort of thing so seek advice to see if it’s easily possible.

I’m resonating LCR circuits in the audio band (and upto about 40kHz) with a swept frequency generator. I’d like to gather data from these experiments and store that data on my PC for later use. I have 4 different parameters I’m measuring that need gathering and storing. A couple are DC volts; a couple are AC volts/current. That latter two can be RMS to DC converted before logging. Their ranges are all less than 0-5Volts.

I very much need a ‘plug-and-play’ solution, here, because this is a means to an end for my project and only a small part of it. Though obviously, interesting I just don’t have the skill to work out the code, nor the time to experiment with hardware, etc, etc.

It is possible, please, to use the Arduino for data gather / store and how should I go about that?

Wisdom always appreciated.

J
