Hello,
I am trying to transmit the data available on the serial port of the DataLogger IoT - 9DoF via LoRa using the expLoRaBLE board.
However, it is not possible to change the datalogger’s firmware to transfer the data via I2C or SPI. Therefore, I have the following questions:
1- Is it possible to restore the DataLogger’s firmware by uploading another sketch?
2- Is there any way to use the expLoRaBLE to read the datalogger’s data directly from the serial port without changing the firmware?
Hi -
- If you overwrite the dataloggers firmware, you can restore it by following the instructions here:
After that, you’ll probably need to upgrade to the latest version.
- We do have customers reading data via the serial port, but I’m not sure how this would work in conjunction with the exLoRaBLE board.
It’s worth noting, we are working on a LoRaWAN IoT solution for release in the fall that would include DataLogger functionality - but it might not work for your needs.
Would a “output to a serial TX/RX pin” option for the DataLogger work? We could have the output write to UART connect to some of the expose GPIO pins - you could then read from these in the Firmware on the ExpLoRaBLE board for output - if so, you can submit a feature request here and we can look to get it in the next firmware update.
