I’m wondering about the difference between xbee modules (Series 2.5, 900…)
I’m thinking about building a quadrotor
I’m looking for longest range with low power consumption and can’t figure out the difference between Series 2.5 and the 900. (note: I want to be able to support a mesh network)

Series 1 - runs IEEE 802.15.4 or DigiMesh. Most popular due to Digi’s virtual wire firmware. 2.4GHz.
XBee vs. XBeePro: latter is higher transmit power.
Series 2 - runs only ZigBee (Ember) on top of 802.15.4 but I don’t think you have access to such. Use if you must have mesh and don’t want plain peer to peer/PAN 802.15.4.
900MHz - akin to series 1 but for 900MHz if you need longer range.
