I am trying to make create speakers that would be controlled by a phone/computer app, Any ideas on the best way to go about doing this?

I saw an article about the Xbee pulse board would this work for my idea? also which would be a better route Xbee or wifi? New to this stuff so any and all help welcome.

In such cases where you need the application to be controlled by I phone or any featured phone, WiFi is the best option. It will provide you better throughput as I have experienced in several cases people use WiFi solution for this kind of application.
