DMX to Xbee

Hi,

I am trying to build a wireless DMX transmitter system. I have 2 Xbee Pro modules, that are already programmed correctly for this application.

In order to send RS-485 based serial ie. DMX i need to convert it to UART correct? So by using a MAX3100CPD i could achieve this?
