Do I need to connect 5V to Logic Level Converter?

Hello, I have a Bi-directional Logic Level Converter, but I only need it for converting 3.3V to 5V. May I ask, do I need to connect both 3.3V to LV pin and 5V to HV pin? Or can I get away with just connecting 3.3V to the LV pin?

I am new to using this part, sorry if the question seems silly.

Yes, you do need to connect both 3.3v and 5v to the Logic Level Converter for it to function. Those voltage inputs set the high and low voltage levels for the board itself.
