Will the Sparkfun XBee Shield http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9976 work with an Arduino UNO. The comments posted in the product page say there are some issues, but it’s not very clear. I know there is a lot of discussion about replacing a diode with a resistor or something; I don’t want to modify the shield, I just want to know if the shield works with the UNO or not.
In theory it should work. If it doesn’t, all that has to be done is to remove one SMT component. It shouldn’t be bad if you try removing it because it doesn’t matter if you overheat the individual component: You are trying to get rid of it. After that just close the jumper.
