Hello,
I am doing copper pours and am getting thermal pads for every pad.
There are some pads for which i don’t want it to be a thermal pad.
Is there any way i can turn thermal pad off for particular pads?

One way is to do two separate but over lapping pours with the same net name. This way the ‘rules’ for each can be different.
I can turn thermals on and off for individual pads with Pulsonix, I think that most packages can do the same. What software are you using?

Hi,
I am using Eagle 5.6
actually,
do you think it will be OK to simply “Patch” rectangles over the few gaps created by the unwanted thermal pads?
i presume the rectangle" icon puts copper on the pcb?
when i do it i notice it doesnt care if the copper patch has a net name.
i wonder if the pcb etching place will not “see” the rectangles?
Copper patches is one way to over ride the defaults. I’ve used similar tricks.
If the ‘patches’ make it to the GERBER files then that’s what the board house will do. So ALWAYS look at the GERBER’s before sending off the files, I’ve caught a number of errors this way.
