I have stored here electronic devices with aluminum electrolytic capacitors used and manufactured in the early 90s. Here the temperature varies between 33-35C. These electronic devices need to be energized what time and frequency to prevent failures in these aluminum electrolytic capacitors caused by disuse?
Unfortunately your capacitors were manufactured at a time when a whole lot of defective capacitors were made.
That combined with heat and time means they may no longer be any good. It won’t matter what you do to power up the device, it will either be OK, or it won’t work at all OR for very long.
Your best bet is to just replace the old capacitors, especially if the devices they are in are valuable to you.
Old capacitors are the number one reason for older electronics to not function.
