I have been going through this article on the evolution of the capacitors https://www.theengineeringprojects.com/ … itors.html
This has enlightened me a lot. my problem is that they have not told me why different types of capacitors are preferred against the other eg why we use the ceramic capacitors and not the electrolytic capacitors in most applications and vice verse.
Sometime sit’s on account of the thermal environment, use-case, or similar… continue poking around for projects that demonstrate a rationale for WHY they chose one or the other, such as this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb75iDkqB4g , or this article https://wgsusa.com/blog/capacitors-what … -tone-caps
thanks for the video. Why is it that in a power supply system, electrolytic capacitors are used before the Voltage regulator? why cant we use any other type of capacitor and what will happen if we use any other type apart from electrolytic?
