EAGLE copy symbol from schematic or footprint from board

Does anyone know if it is possible to copy a symbol out of an existing schematic (or a footprint from an existing board) I have a few schematic and board files around and I have lost the libraries that I had used to create them.

Is there an easy way to recover the symbols/footprints from the schematic/layout without having to redraw everything?
