Eagle question ???

Hi,

first of all, I’m an ABSOLUTE newbie in Eagle, trying to kick myself through the tutorials, but not very successful yet…

I’m working with a 2-rows, 12 contacts 2mm female connector (Samtec SMMxxx). Samtec provides what they call the ‘PCB footprint’, but I get only an .scr file ?? What the hell can I do with this file ??? This is no library, where should I include this file, and is there a chance this files helps me create the right object in Eagle, or what else is the purpose of such an .scr file ???

Thanks for any help…

Regards

Phil

It’s a script file.

Go into the library that you want to place the part into. Then File → Script → select the file.

I’ve seen this before, but it’s not very common at all.

Thanks Mark, I’ll try that this WE.

Samtec (like many others…) is not very supportive for Eagle (ADISxxx IMUs from Analog have no Eagle support at all…). Ultiboard and OrCAD seems to have much wider support, but it’s not targeted at the same audience… :frowning:

Cheers

Phil
