Hello All, I have had the Etek EB-85A for a year and some now, I was using it in conjunction with the breakout usb/rs232 board to my computer when i first got it to learn about it. Anyways now im using it for a hardware project.
A few days ago I took it out and plugged it in to a laptop. Took it out side and it was having hell of a time downloading a new almanac, I Finally got it to compute a location and it was working, now when I plug it in it no longer communicates to the computer.
If I plug in the breakout board even without powering the board up the computer adds the new device to hardware manager. Powering it on MiniGPS nor any terminal client gets any data from the GPS device. I did a continuity test between some points on the breakout board and headers, and I did a continuity test on the cable, do any of you have any idea what may be wrong or how I can test if either the Board or the GPS is too blame without having a spare of either of the two?
NO DATA IS TRANSMITTED TO TERMINAL, NOR IS THERE DATA TRANSMITTED TO MINIGPS AND ITS TERMINAL. :x
