EM-406A maximum levels

Hi all,

the EM-406A datasheet says about levels,

"TTL level, Output voltage level: 0V ~ 2.85V

RS-232 level"

So it’s TTL input level (5V?), up to 2.85V output, right? But what about RS-232? Isn’t that up to 13V?

Is it safe to directly connect the TX and RX with an ATmega running at 5V?

I just wanna be sure they play nice together :slight_smile:

the high logic voltage on the TX line is 2.85V, the RX line is tolerant of 5V, so your setup will work fine
