Hi folks,
So, my EM-406A still is not turning on. It used to work, then stopped after I let the battery supply run down. I can’t imagine that it just died (and, of course, the 30 day warranty just expired…). All I get is a barely barely glowing LED; all else appears to be inert.
So, it occurs to me that the device has a Super Cap inside, to maintain some storage. Perhaps the memory got scrambled in the power brown-out, and the cap is maintaining that scrambled data…
So, how can I reset or clear the storage? If the device isn’t turning on, I can’t use a command string, so perhaps I can discharge the super cap? How can I do that? How long do I need to wait for it to do that on its own?
If I were to try a command string, what exactly would I send?
Thanks,
Greg.
