I have spent the past few years designing around the SparkFun Thing and the Thing Power Control Shield. It appears that the ESP32 ecosystem is dying. The Thing Power Control Shield is gone and the original Thing has been replaced by the Thing Plus, a Cortex ARM based processor. Is there a path to move from SparkFun Thing and Thing Power Control Shield (a great combination) to the present offerings?
It seems like the Think Power Control Shield was retired due to poor sales, unfortunately. This might be why we have not started working on a similar product for the Thing Plus eco system(or others).
We are still producing https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13231 and https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13907 while we can. If additional boards we build for either board don’t do well we tend to concentrate efforts on other products.
