Perhaps this already exists somewhere, if so it would be great if you could point me to it.
I’d like an Ethernet port with a built in transformer and whatever other obscure parts are necessary for Ethernet, so I could easily hook it up to an Ethernet chip such as the ENC28J60.
I know Spark Fun sells ports with the ENC28J60 but I’d like just the port and transformer and other pieces.

In the datasheet for your ENC28J60 part, they will specify the type of magnetics (transformer) that will work with their chip. Make sure you select the proper Pulse jack with the correct magnetics.
The pulse jacks can be ordered from digikey.
There are other manufacturers that make jacks with magnetics built in, but I’m not sure how easily obtainable they are.
