Facet Data Logging Modes

Hello,

I have a question regarding the data logging on the Facet. I have two of the devices (one with firmware from Feb. 2022, the other Aug. 2022). I’ve been using the first one to log data and wrote a parser to parse the binary ubx files. With the second unit the ubx files that are now written as ASCII. I’m wondering if there is a method to revert the data logging back to the original binary file style on the second unit?

It’s normal for the .ubx file to contain ascii if the NMEA messages are turned on.

Go into the WiFi config and turn on and off the messages you want.

More info is here: https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … _messages/

Most users set the log message to the default 5 (just NMEA) or the 7 (NMEA + RAWX and SFRBX).

Doh! I forgot I had turned on extra messages on in the first device I was using and nothing in the manual was jogging my memory.

Thanks!

Happy to help! Also note: A factory reset (https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … em_status/) will erase all settings on the device and return to the default 5xNMEA messages.
