Finding the right accelerometer

Hi everyone,

I need a large amount of accelerometers for my senior design project but am having a hard time finding one with all right parameters. It needs to have an output range of minimum 100 g and a data rate of minimum 2.5kHz. Preferably 16-bit data output and uniaxial but triple axis is okay if it satisfies the first two parameters mentioned.

I would be grateful for any suggestions or advice. Please let me know if further information is needed. Thank you!

That’s a tough spec sheet to fill in the consumer market….most max at 16 or 32g. 100g is more common in aerospace or industrial tech

This one is about the only one we offer but it has 1KHz output (though it is also configurable for 16-bit)

Could you use 3 of them and stagger their polling to achieve ~2.5-3KHz?

They aren’t cheap and you’d have to make a PCB for them but Analog Devices makes what you’re looking for. These have an analog output so you’re not limited by how fast you can transfer data via I2C.

Hello,

Unfortunately I presented this one to my project sponsors earlier this week and we discussed it would not be sufficient. We plan on having multiple cavity locations on a cantilever beam and already planned on have 3 accels on the beam for what we are investigating. I will look into more aerospace of industrial sources. Thank you for your effort!
