Fingerprint Scanner TTL (GT-521F32) SDK software

I am having trouble with the SDK software that is used for the TTL (GT-521F32) fingerprint scanner. I have my device wired correctly to the one they show in the hookup guide, I am using a resistor voltage divider. I have checked the wiring multiple times and have even tried rebuilding it all together from scratch. My problem I am having is after I upload the code to my arduino uno, I go to my SDK software and select the correct com port and baud rate but then when I go to click open nothing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Can you go to device manager (or equivalent) and change the COM port to something between 3-10 as mentioned? https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/fi … or-arduino

The COM is on com 4 already for the arduino uno. I can get you a photo on how it is wired tomorrow if you’re still around to help.

You need a FTDI connected to the sensor rather than an Uno. With the Unt, the SDK is talking to the Uno and not the sensor. Since the Uno isn’t a fingerprint sensor the software is unhappy.
