First Project - TrackIR mimic

So I have TrackIR and it’s awesome but I also have a wireless headset which means when I use TrackIR I have a wire trailing (1st world problems) so I’ve decided I’d like to do a small project.

Problem is I don’t know much about electronics.

I think it’s relatively simple but want to be sure so something doesn’t blow up…

I need 3 IR LEDs, a battery which I can unplug and recharge, and a switch. I’m not sure if I need any resistors or other stuff, and also not sure what size battery I’d need for 3 IR LEDs.

My normal usage is around 5 hours of continuous use, but it can be longer so I’d like some overhead on charge time.

Any help or input would be appreciated

What IR LEDs do you have? This will determine what size batteries and resistors you need. You will also need something to mount these to, like a perf board, and also soldering equipment.
