Flashing CHG on Thing Plus when powered from VUSB pin

Hello,

I’m trying to power Thing Plus directly from a power supplier (skipping USB) by connecting 5V to the VUSB pin.

The board seems to be running fine, however, the CHG led is rapidly flashing in orange.

I don’t know if that’s normal or am I causing any damage to the board - does anyone know?

This is normal if you don’t have a battery attached.

Without a battery, the battery leads on the board are floating and the charger IC sometimes sees a voltage below 4.2 volts and tries to charge a battery that isn’t there. It’s nothing to worry about. :slight_smile:
