Flying with pressure sensor breakout MS5803-14BA

Hello! I am using these sensors to build pressure gauges for my field work this summer, but I will be flying to my field site. Is it okay to put these pressure sensors in checked luggage (in a hard case for structural protection) and allow them to be depressurized, or should I bring them with me in carry-on to maintain ~1 atm? I am afraid that allowing them to be depressurized will damage the sensor or cause future error in my measurements.

Hmmm…I don’t think I can answer this for certain. The datahseet pg 3 shows accuracy ratings for 0-14bar https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sen … 3_14ba.pdf, making me believe that an atm nearing 0 could throw off the calibration, but I wouldn’t necessarily expect it to…there’s a listed overpressure rating of 30 bar, but no complementary ‘underpressure’ listed…

I would probably grab 2, and bring one each way…then test & report back the results here!
