forum auto-login and cookies

is it just me?

I access the forum from a home PC and an office PC, as a rule. Both are Windows XP. And when I do login, usually but not always, the forum has forgotten my history of already-been-read.

80% of the time, I must re-login. Seemingly no matter which PC was last used for access. All the other forums I frequent don’t do this. Yes, I have the keep me logged in box ticked, and yes, cookies are enabled, and so on.

Since there are few/no complaints posted, it must be something I’m doing wrong.

Any suggestions?

Not sure what the issue could be.

I access from home, work, my phone, and multiple hotel business centers and the all ready been read indications have been proper for me.

What browser are you using? Apparently some people using earlier versions of Firefox had similar issues. Version 3.5 seems to work fine for me, and I never had any issues back when I used IE…

I use latest Firefox on all computers.

I did delete the cookies for SFE on my home PC some time ago in an attempt to fix a different problem. It may have started then.

Is there a way to delete ALL of the SFE cookies? Not sure of the names.

data point:

Today, Firefox (latest) at work: logged in before lunch. I did not log out. A few hours later, went to SFE, and it required I log in again. Windows XP. No one else uses my login.

I’m looking into the problem right now, I personally haven’t noticed any issues but it appears something must be going on :slight_smile:

Ok, looks like the default session timeout was set to 1 hour. I’ve bumped this up to 2 weeks, let us know if you’re still having issues.
