GE865 - Registration Denied (ATT Prepaid)

I am using the GE865 Eval board, and have been trying to get up an running. I wanted to get a dedicated SIM card for the board - rather than using my phone’s SIM - so I purchased an ATT prepaid SIM card (had it activated as well). The card works in actual cell phones, however, when trying to use it with the GE865, I get the dreaded:

AT+CREG?

+CREG: 0,3

I know this means “registration denied,” and when leafing through other posts I saw someone mention that some carriers lock out certain IMEI numbers from their networks. Has anyone else had issues using ATT prepaid SIMs for the GE86x chips? Is there anything I can do/try to possibly get around this? I have tried other ATT SIMs with the board (post-paid SIMs), and they seem to work fine. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

UPDATE: I bypassed ATT and got a $7 prepaid SIM from T-Mobile. Although they forgot to send the activation card with the package - which I obtained by calling them - the board is now up and running as expected.

I am also getting registration denied. with the GE864 Module on the New Zealand 2 degrees Network.

if anyone has any ideas on how to sort this out, it’d be great.

YF

I have a GE865 eval board from SFE, I am currently using a SIM card bought through eBay and on an ATT gophone plan. I registered the SIM/IMEI on ATT’s gophone site. I had some issues with a previous SFE eval board, but SFE replaced it (gave SIM card errors). With current GE865 eval board, no issues getting onto network, at home I get a +CREG: 0,1 and at inlaws, I get a +CREG: 0,5. In both places I can send/receive SMS/emails through it.
