Getting Eagle to Gerber files

Hey, First post

I’m having a hard time getting my circuits into Gerber format. I’ve been following this guide:

http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/tutori … als_id=109

I find it a bit lacking in the area of explaining how to process. I’ve followed it word for word. I’m using the CAM that is on the guide. I get a 100% completed confirmation but no files are produced.

Any help?

Thanks.

Got it.

Turns out not using that how-to was the best option. I just used Batch’s website.

Lots of the SFE tutorials are very outdated now. They either need removing or updating.

What’s wrong with that tutorial? I used the SFE tutorial to make a PCB just the other day? And he goes over the batch processing pretty clearly on there.

Once you’re good and happy with your PCB layout (there is no turning back after you submit the files!), click on the CAM button to bring up the processor. This window will allow you to do different things to different layers. Eagle comes with a couple default *.cam files. The most common ones are the gerb274x.cam and excellon.cam. I got tired of running two seperate processors. I am also a hold over from Protel and a different naming convention so I created my own single file CAM processor. You can snag it here. The sfe-gerb274x.cam is based on the default Eagle file with a few tweaks:

If you email the .BRD file (2 layer) to gerber.images@circuitpeople.com, the robot there will automatically generate gerber files and return them to you in a zip file, and also include PNG images of each layer.

This is a semi-beta service, so be kind to it please.
