Getting going with Alphanumeric displays -

This is always an awkward moment learning a new chip with a display and forum. I have the colorful Sparkfun alphanumeric displays and the Qwiic Pro Micro - USB-C (ATmega32U4 with the suggested cables.

I have successfully worked through ‘most’ of the Qwiic Alphanumeric Display Hookup Guide. No problem getting a single print sting display to show 1, 2,3 or 4 characters.

But for the life if me I cannot get the characters to scroll nor can I get the multi display test app feature going. Nothing shows up on the 2nd display. Even if I only have one display connected, the will not scroll. The texts is stationary.

I followed the Example_08_MultiDisplay suggestions and added a dab of solder on A0 for the 2nd display. Nothing seems to want to show up there. I rechecked the cables and orientation of the connectors. Recompiled. Rebooted etc etc.

How can I determine my issue or what else can I do to get scrolling going on a single display and multi display?

Thank you for your patience.

Tom

Hi, have you tested the alphanumeric displays separately? If you directly power up the display with a power supply, do the segments light up?

Yes, I tested each one separately. They power up and show all their segments. Just trying to get more than one display going at once and getting them to scroll left and right (If possible). Thank you.
