Getting Started with MSP430-413STK2

looking at the schematics it looks like this device can be powered off of the JTAG connection. Is this true? I cannot even get IAR to see the device. I receive a ‘Could not find target (or target not supported.)’ error.

Any advice? I know this is about as simple a question as they get, I just need to get started.

That is true, but, computer sometimes (when you use LCD or other devices in the MSP) doesn’t have suficient current to work. Try connect the batery and you will see that all works fine.
